Abstracts may focus on dermatology scientific research, clinical practice updates, case studies, and professional practice relevant for the dermatology practitioner.

  • All accepted abstracts will be electronically displayed at the 2024 SDNP National Conference in Kiawah Island, SC, April 27-28.
  • All accepted abstracts will also be available on the SDNP website and/or mobile app for a period of one year.
Criteria:
  • At least one (1) author must be registered for the in-person meeting to have their abstracts considered for electronic poster display.
  • Abstracts must be uploaded via the online portal
  • All posters will be presented digitally, so provide your poster in a PowerPoint HORIZONTAL layout file. The link for uploading will be sent with acceptance notifications. 
  • When submitting, the size is not an issue since viewers can scroll and zoom in and out to view but they must be in done in PowerPoint and in a horizontal layout.  A suggested arrangement for easy viewing is illustrated below. You are not required to use this format - it is simply a suggested arrangement.
Poster Format
  • AVOIDANCE OF COMMERCIALISM: Any abstract, of which the cost is underwritten to any extent by a pharmaceutical company or other commercial enterprise, must avoid commercialism.
    • Trade names must not be used for drugs, devices and/or instrumentation including lasers.
    • Abstracts and posters should include a clear but inconspicuous acknowledgment stating that a portion of its cost was underwritten and identify the particular commercial company involved.
    • No advertising material of any kind may be distributed nor will any material display which, in any way, directly promotes the commercial interest of any particular company or enterprise.
    • Any medications or other substances, devices or equipment referred to in the exhibit and poster materials must be identified by their scientific names.
    • Note: Sponsorship or funding by a commercial enterprise must be noted in the lower right hand corner of the exhibit.
Fee:
  • No fee for non-industry abstracts
  • $500 per abstract for industry abstracts
Poster Guidelines:
  • Language: English 
  • Authors: full last name, first name, affiliations, degrees and contact information
  • Font: Arial
  • Maximum of 3,000 characters, including spaces (not including the title, authors, or affiliations)
  • References must be included as parenthetical in-text citations - first author, et al, journal and year - (Doe, Jane, et al. Cutis 2012)
  • Full contact information, including email, of corresponding author
  • Abstract text should preferably be in a "structured abstract" form with sections marked:
    • Background
    • Objectives
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusions
    • Relevance for the Dermatology Practitioner
  • Abstracts containing non-generic drug names or personal patient information, or reporting studies with unidentified chemical compounds, drugs, or materials, will not be accepted.
