The Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners is always interested in new leaders to support the organization. These volunteers provide leadership to the Board and members of SDNP. 

Call for Nominations: SDNP Board of Directors

The Society of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners accepts nominations for key leadership positions within our organization. This is a unique opportunity for passionate and dedicated members to shape the future success and expansion of SDNP.  Nominate yourself and/or a fellow member for the following position(s): 

  • President-elect (2025-26; president 2026-27; past president 2027-28)
  • Secretary (2025-28)

 Important Dates:

  • Submission Period: October 4 – November 3
  • Installation: During the Annual Meeting & Awards session at the 2025 National Conference 

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Active membership in SDNP;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the field of dermatology nursing;
  • Strong leadership qualities and a vision for the future of SDNP;
  • Availability to fulfill the responsibilities of the respective position.

 How to Apply or Nominate:

  1. Complete the Nomination Form.
  2. Include a brief biography and statement of interest from the nominee.
  3. Submit all documents by the November 3 deadline.

 Election Process:

  • Nominations will be reviewed by the Nominations Committee.
  • Candidates will be notified of their eligibility.
  • Election results will be announced January 2025. 

 Positions Overview: The board of directors has a monthly 1-hour virtual meeting.  They meet in-person at the SDNP National Conference and a date-to-be-determined meeting in the Fall. Travel expenses are reimbursed for Board members.  Additionally, Directors serve as Board Liaison to a committee and should plan to attend those calls and help with offline work, as needed.  Overall time commitment is 2-4 hours a month. 

President-elect:

  • Supports the President and prepares for the transition to the presidency.
  • Assumes the role of President in the following term.

 Term:

  • President-elect (2025-26)
  • President (2026-27)
  • Past president (2027-28) 

 Treasurer:

  • Attend all meetings of the Society, Executive Committee, and Board of Director.
  • Minutes and Record keeping Oversight:
    • Work directly with the Executive Director and other administrative personnel to oversee accurate minutes for all Board meetings and regular reports on the status of Society for review by the Board and SDNP Members.
  • Highlight any areas of concern or improvement.
  • Provide oversight and support to the Membership Committee.

 Term: 2025-28
